“1066: Norman Invasion. Who’s Norman?”

“I mean, look at your science major friends. Do they have any culture? Hell no!”

“Hell’s a very democratic place.”

“So what this part of the poem means is basically: Life’s a bitch and then you die.”

“According to the Bible, you’re not married in heaven. What a relief!”

Referring to Jesus being angry about the crucifixion: “No one would help me. Bastards!”

“I can’t find my pen! I’m having a nervous breakdown!!”

About a poem by W.B. Yeats: “I used to make students write an essay about this. Very evil. I enjoyed it.”

“I feel better and you feel worse and that is what is important.”

“That’s what you would call a work study.. or a slave. He brings me popcorn everyday. With parmesan cheese.”

“I stole it from Dr.Schneider’s man purse.”

“I have such an urge to smash things!”

“It was all very swash-buckling and special.”

“It’s not a manly thing to use the index, its like asking for direction.”

“It was fiendishly clever on my part.”

“The word ‘flipperty-gibbet’ comes to mind.”

“Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.”
